Combined Energy is delivering the EV Charging in Apartments and Commuter Hubs project with support from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under the Driving the Nation Program.
Unlike traditional EV charging systems that require expensive electrical upgrades, this project uses standard portable (Level 1) chargers and smart load management technology — making charging more affordable and accessible for apartment residents.
What's included
Participating buildings receive a package normally worth up to $10,630, heavily subsidised through the program. The package includes:
Apartment Building Energy Monitoring System — live monitoring of power flows and energy cost data across your building
Comprehensive EV Charging Site Assessment Report — including a resident survey, site inspection and detailed analysis to inform your building's EV strategy
Quoted EV Charging System Designs — actionable quotes for three levels of deployment (minimal, 50%, or full coverage) tailored to your building and residents
Offset deployment costs — the energy monitoring system becomes part of your EV charging system if you go ahead with deployment
Pricing
Small Building (up to 15 apartments) - $2,900 ex GST (normally $8,330 ex GST )
Medium Building (16-50 apartments) - $3,500 ex GST (normally $9,280 ex GST)
Large building (more than 50 apartments) - $4,000 ex GST (normally $10,630 ex GST)
