About High Life Living

High Life Living exists to support Victorian apartment building communities.

We understand that the most home upgrade programs, advice and information are designed with standalone homes in mind. They simply don’t translate into the more complex, strata governed environment of apartment buildings.

We don’t want apartment building communities to be left behind in the transition towards resilient, sustainable, energy efficient, healthy homes. That’s why we exist.

We work to:

  • Create and share relevant resources

  • Find suppliers keen and ready to support apartment renters, owners and managers

  • Deliver events to connect, inspire and share information with apartment building communities

  • Design and deliver practical, on-ground research and projects for and with apartment communities

  • Working in partnership, we advocate for better legislation, programs and incentives for owners corporations and apartment owners and renters

We host the High Life Expo and are working to make this a regular event every second year.

High Life began with focus on sustainability and electrification. It soon became clear there’s a need and appetite for broader information. We’re increasingly working to cover things like governance, community building, resilience, maintenance, safety and decision-making.

High Life Living is in transition

High Life is currently managed by Let Me Be Frank in collaboration with Owner Corporation Network. It is supported by government and industry partners.

Understanding there is a need for ongoing support for apartment building communities, we are in the process of transitioning High Life into an independent not-for-profit.

Let Me Be Frank is a sustainability and change agency, we co-create strategy, culture, and action with businesses, communities, and governments who want a just future now, for people and for the planet.

Thanks to more than 10 years of collaboration with the strata sector and communities, our staff have a deep passion for better living in apartments, units, and townhouses. We see the need to advocate for and with the sector, to create and share resources, and we see the opportunity to retrofit these buildings to become part of our city’s sustainable, liveable future.

1% of our income is paid to Traditional Owners and First Nations-led organisations. We encourage everyone we work with to Pay the Rent to a Traditional Owner or First Nations-led organisation that connects with their values and vision. We donate a further 1% of our annual income to environmental organisations via 1% for the Planet. For emissions we can’t avoid, we offset with Greenfleet.

The Owners Corporation Network is the premier consumer advocate for the 2.4 million people who own and live in strata. We are strata owners – supporting each other, sharing information and advocating for our communities
