Compact heat pump powers hot water for 85-apartments

STIEBEL ELTRON has supplied and commissioned its CM-T 55 Commercial Hot Water Skid as the centralised hot water solution for Fabbrica, a new residential development in Fitzroy, Victoria. The system is an electric heat pump, ensuring energy efficient delivery of hot water.

Fabbrica comprises 85 apartments and townhouses.

STIEBEL ELTRON describes the CM-T 55 system as “a pre-engineered skid system that consolidates multiple commercial hot water system components into a compact, coordinated unit. The skid-mounted configuration simplifies installation on site while optimising the footprint of the plant room, making it well suited to the space constraints of inner-city multi-residential development.”

While High Life Living is focused on upgrading existing apartment buildings, it's still useful to understand what’s being installed in new buildings. It helps prove what’s possible and start the conversations about how such systems might apply in a retrofit context.
